Instrument Mapping

Instrument Mapping is an projection mapping project I spent a year experimenting with. The project uses real musical instruments as the projection surface for a series of animations. I had to strip back the instruments and paint them white to be able to project the visuals onto them.

The aim of this project was to explore projection mapping techniques, further my own learning in animation techniques and to thoroughly explore new applications and processes.

Instrument Mapping was picked up by Pause Festival 2011 and was on display from 7-14th of November 2011 at Melbourne Central. There is a video and photos of this event below.

I even made an Instrument Mapping minisite:instrumentmapping.skaremedia.com/index.html
