Yesterday I pretty much saw most of what there is to see on Santorini via scooter. The only other thing to fill a day here is the day trip to the “volcano”, hot springs and the village on the opposite island, although that didn’t really appeal to me especially after what I had heard. So instead I decided to climb to the top of the nearby mountain to check out some ancient ruins and a church half way up.
Eventually I struck up a conversation with Wendy from the UK and it turned out we had a lot in common including out thoughts on solo travel, Couchsurfing and on criticisms about Santorini Island itself which we decided is not Beautiful or as amazing as we had been lead to believe, but simply Charming.
It turned out we were both meeting up with different couchsurfers that evening too. Unfortunately my meet up fell through so I crashed her meet up and it turned out to be a great day/evening hanging out, watching the sunset in the cold and plenty of Gyros in Oia.
