We have somehow gained and extra day somewhere so decided today was a beach+ cigar + rum day. After a visit to the official rum/cigar store and picking up some guava rum and cigars we found a taxi to take us to Playa Jutia.
At the beach we booked in a snorkelling trip which was cubanly delayed for almost an hour so that the boat captain could bring allng a chicka a bottle of rum and some friends. The first spot was an amazing coral reef and we surfaced after about 25 minutes here to find the bottle of rum empty and the boat crew intoxicated.
After a second stop on a secluded beach where we played with giant starfish, crabs and huge jelly fish we headed back to the beach.
The rest of the day we spent smoking Cuban cigars, exploring mangroves and swimming while drinking rum. when we returned to Vinales we had expected the taxi driver to increase the already agreed upon price but he didn’t, so we half drunkenly enlisted him as our private chauffeur and tour guide for the following day.
