Day-264

Today I had my photo all thought out. I learned through Atlas Obscura that there is a catacomb In downtown Lima called the Monastery of San Fransisco which houses the bones of more than 50,000 people, with some decoratively arranged beneath the Monastery. However, unfortunately it is forbidden to take any photographs or video inside the Monastery so you will just have to google it. There was also an amazing old library inside too which definitely made the trip worth it, even if you couldn’t take any photos. Out the front of the Monastery we were interviewed by two cute little peruvian girls who were learning English.

We also went to a hotel to have the best Pisco Sour in all of Peru, Went past the presidential palace to see the changing of the guards where this cheeky guard pulled on my dreads and then walked around the corner to get a shoe shine instead of guarding the palace. We also stopped for some Churros where the woman selling them was interested in my dreads too and started asking questions and grabbing them. Nothing like this has ever happened North of Lima, in the north people are more prone to just staring in awe at foreigners.

We finished up the day at Parque de la Reserva which has about 15 different water fountains, and after dark they put on light shows similar to the Magic Fountain in Barcelona, Spain.
