Day-273

Incan ruins of Pisac. The ruins we visited today were incredible. The whole complex spans several mountainsides, includes 4 separate “temple” type ruins, a cliffside dotted with Ventanillas similar to the ones in Cajamarca which we say on Day 254 and surrounded by hundreds of massive Terraces carved into the mountainsides. The whole complex was connected via mountain top trails and caves.

Pisac is in the Sacred Valley of the Incas and after looping around and visiting Pisac on the way through I am positive I want to stay in Cusco for an extra few nights than planned. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking and throughout the Sacred Valley and there are tonnes of other ruins to see. However tomorrow we are off on a 2 night, 3 day trip to the famous Machu Picchu! We opted to skip the extremely expensive train option to reach Machu Picchu and take the more adventurous route which hopefully works out ok (although there has been talk of a downed bridge along the way).

Updates from Machu Picchu in a few days 🙂
