This is me floating in Cejar lagoon outside of San Pedro De Atacama, Chile. These 3 small lagoons in the Atacama desert are just as salty as the dead sea, which means you can float around in them without any effort! I have always wanted to try this in the dead sea and until a few weeks ago I never knew there was such a place in Chile!
I made sure to dunk my dreads in for a good soak as salt water is great for them, and I have a small rash on my leg and man did it sting after a few minutes, but i assume the salt was good for it. The layer of salt that is left all over you after you dry off is pretty uncomfortable too, but luckily there are people with fresh water spray guns that will hose you off to a comfortable level of saltiness, or there is a nearby fresh water lagoon to rinse off in.
We finished the day at another nearby salt flat and lagoon to watch the sunset in the reflections of the shallow lagoon with a pisco sour.
