Wow, Cappadocia is spectacular! It’s so surreal.
Thanks to a flask of bulgarian whiskey I think I had about 3 hours sleep on my night bus. I checked into my cave hostel, met a few cool cats in my hostel and we did the green tour around Cappadocia. We went to an underground city, “hiked” through a gorge, had lunch, went to a cave monastery and then a lookout point.
When we got back to our hostel Tom (a shockingly young Jetstar pilot from NZ) and I couldn’t just sit around even though I was pretty much delirious with sleep deprivation so we went out to explore the Pigeon Alley fairy chimneys nearby on foot. It was just as the sun was setting and I got some spectacular sunset shots. Tom climbed up the side of a cliff and almost died on the way back down.
Also we found two tortoise in the middle of the desert and saw a turkey in Turkey. This place is spectacular.
I couldn’t stop taking photos and todays photo was extremely hard to choose. This is inside one of the rooms of the Selime Rock Monastery. Apparently one of the best indoor caves around the area. The whole interior was carved out of solid rock. Wouldn’t want to make a mistake here.
