Day-170

So this morning I was rushing to try and get to the 10.30am free walking tour, on the way a bug Hungarian guy stopped me and took my map. I wasn’t sure what he wanted so I tried to grab it back off him and said “I’m fine mate, I’m need to meet someone and I’m late”. He kept a hold of the map and tried to flog off an obviously stolen iPhone, before telling me in broken english “You give me glasses, phone and wallet now” I didn’t really know what to make of the situation, he was a big dude, but seemed drunk or something and I knew I could easily outrun him if I needed to. Was this guy actually trying to mug me in broad daylight on a busy main road?

I just repeated the same thing I had said three times already “I’m late, I need to go, sorry.” He stared at me for a second or two then loosened his grip on my map and I was on my way. Because of this lumbering failure of a thug I missed the tour and instead took the later 2pm tour. So between I checked out the Terror House “Museum” which is supposed to be a museum about the “terror times” when Hungary was occupied by the fascists and communists , although it was interesting it was not as informative as I had hoped and a bit touristy, more like a small theme park for my liking.

The walking tour ended in the rain at the extremely picturesque and photogenic Fisherman’s Bastion which looks like an enchanted Disney castle. Actually this entire city is really photogenic which is going to make choosing photos over the next few days really difficult. Stupid awesome, beautiful city.
