I woke up feeling a bit better today and thankfully the morning went un-cubanly smoothly. In the first few hours I had my visa extended, deodorant and water purchased, internet surfed, casa particular booked and boat and cigar tours sorted.
We explored Confieugos some more before taking a sunset boat tour which was supposed to go for 2 hours and take us past the pirate fortress.
However in true cuban style we paid more than was advertised, were given a half arsed 45 minute ride around the harbour which didn’t go any where near the fortress but did go near this cool shipwreck. but we were then scammed a few dollars by our taxi driver when we returned to our casa particular. In Cuba remember to always negotiate taxi prices first, clarify the price per person, and pay first, otherwise prepare for an argument or to pay more than you bargained for, literally. Twice I have forgotten one of these rules and twice I have had to pay more than negotiated.
