Happy 2014!!! Today I did something I swore I would never do again. Took a hop on, hop off tour bus around Havana.
At 5am tomorrow morning we escape Cuba and fly to Panama via the Cayman islands . So we didn’t have to pay another night for a half night of sleep we decided to spend today at the beach with our baggage and some rum and cigars and then try and catch some sleep at the airport before our 5am flight the next morning.
However it seemed everyone else had the same idea to go to the beach today and the bus line was several hours long. So instead we paid $5 each and caught the hop on, hop off bus around the city after storing our bags in a hotel.
Because today is a public holiday the internet cafe was closed so we couldn’t check in for our flight or find out which terminal our flight left from, so we took a wild guess and guessed wrong. Another cab ride later we were trying to sleep on the uncomfortable benches outside the terminal while the staff drank and yelled and smelly dogs circled and fought over biscuit wrappers. Not the most enjoyable day.
