Day-234

I intended to take a photo today on top of Panecillo hill looking back towards the Equator and the Basilica del Voto Nacional which I took a photo from yesterday, but unfortunately it absolutely bucketed down this afternoon which prevented me from getting there. Before the rain hit we wandered the old town, which explodes on Sundays due to church services, free live music and people carrying around baby jesus dolls and being covered in rose petals and kisses.

We checked out the Astronomy museum North of the old town and a few parks too, which is where we spotted these gentlemen doing some serious gambling in the park as it started raining.

Now we are off to catch an overnight bus to the Amazon, so I have my flask of Havana Club ready to knock me out. We will barely have electricity in our huts let alone internets, so the updates wont come until Saturday when/if we return. YAY AMAZON!
