Day-290

So the overnight bus to Sucre was fun as per usual. I took a sleeping pill which managed to block out most of everyones inconsiderations for their fellow bus passengers and awoke at about 8am as we were arriving into the small Unesco Heritage listed city of Sucre. Sucre is the official Capital city of Bolivia however Sucre is a university city and much smaller than La Paz. The small size and high volume of students in Sucre meant that protests were more intense and usually involved protesters turning up to politicians homes. Because f this the Government ended up moving to the huge city of La Paz which became the unofficial capital.

We checked into our hostel which is owned by an awesome Irish dude and it turned out we were his very first guests. We spent the morning chatting and he told us all about the city. We went out to explore a church (which was closed due to it being sunday), the cemetery (which was packed due to it being Sunday), and the markets (which closed early due to it being Sunday). We were planning on climbing a nearby hill to watch the sunset but got sidetracked chatting and playing cards with the owner and two other guests at the hostel so ended up just watching the awesome sunset from the balcony.
