
After watching the 11.30pm sunset and swigging Talisker whiskey from the top of a nearby mountain we returned to our camp and went to bed just as the sun started to rise again. The night is really short being this far north in the highlands. This photo of our campsite was taken at about 8am the next day, but it had already been light like this since about 5am. Sleeping masks are very much worthwhile here. The reflections in the Loch here only lasted about 5 mins before the wind whipped up again and disturbed the waters surface.
The rest of the day was spent exploring waterfalls and hiking crazy awesome ridges and mountaintops of which I took far too many photos of. As Dylan said, no photo can do justice to the epic views in the Highlands. I’m pretty sure he is right, therefore my next photo will most likely have to be a collage of our entire Highlands trip…
