Its all about the Cheese in Holland. This is the weekly cheese market, display, routine thingy that happens every week in Hoorn (about 45 mins out of Amsterdam). This is played out every week with a group of retirees acting out how the old cheese market used to work here.
I know this, because it was explained specifically to me by the presenter after my Couchsurfing host Marieke pointed out that I was the only person in the crowd that couldn’t understand dutch. So after when each part was explained in Dutch, the woman presenting turned and directed here entire english translation at me which was pretty funny.
The guys also like to carry around people on their cheese errrr… boards? My Couchsurfing host had a shot, but I wasn’t as game to have a go. Instead I ticked off Stroodwaffle and the Soused Herring (pretty much just raw herring with onions).
