Day-43

Trainin to Barcelona. A well deserved day spent sitting on my arse watching Vice docos and watching the countryside zip by on a couple of these puppies. I managed to book a ticket for the last leg of my journey in Paris after an hour wait so didn’t get to hitchhike to Barcelona.

A warning about the rail passes here. If you plan on going through countries where you need to “reserve” a seat or sleeper prepare to spend a lot of time screwing around reserving tickets at stations, line riding and station hopping to find someone who can book a ticket for you. If one counter says there are no tickets available and try sell you a full price 80 euro ticket when you know for sure there are seats left, tell them no thanks and go to the next wind or station until you find someone who doesn’t try rip you off. Also apparently not all ticket offices use the same booking system, so some trains don’t show up at all on their systems, in that case find a different station or company all together.
