NYC, the mega city that is actually tiny. I cannot get over how many people I keep running into, or how many people I meet that knows someone I know. All roads lead to NYC.
I had a late start to the day, but went to check out some street art and “the Evolution store” which is similar to “wunderkammer” in Melbourne. Here they sell crazy crazy stuff, like meteorites, dinosaur teeth, fossils, skeletons, real human skulls, bug and butterfly collections, specimens in jars etc. Definitely worth a look if you are in the area.
I also came across the Ghostbusters Fire Station! I was actually wearing my ghostbuster/pacman shirt at the time, and bummed i didn’t realise it at the time, otherwise I would have gotten a photo.
In the evening I met up with Vaguey and his mate Drew and we went up to the Top Of The rock to watch the sunset over New York City. Drew was on the most recent Big Brother so is somewhat of a celebrity back in Australia, but even in NYC he was still stopped for photos with other Aussies who recognised him on top of the rockerfeller, which Vaguey found particularly hilarious. Around the other side of the planet he still couldn’t get away from his new found status as a big brother celebrity.
We ended the night at a tiny, but awesome cocktail bar in lower Manhattan where one of Drews mates worked, so we got some pretty awesome deals on some pricey drinks. The decor was rustic, and I couldn’t get over how amazing the bathroom was, it was like being inside an old mesh and wood pannel elevator and the sink folded into the wall! I didn’t end up in bed until about 4am again, New york, You’re killing me!
