Oh Budapest, I really think you are trying to kill me. I don’t want to leave you again, but at the same time my liver is telling me to get out while I still have a chance.
Early last night after wandering the city in search of some live music and drinking the remainder of my home made Rakia I stopped in to say G’day to the good folk who run David Hasslehostel. As I got there they were just heading out to a reggae gig so I joined in. Several blurry beers, whiskeys, bars and slices of pizzas later I looked at the time and realised I had drank the night away once again in Buadapest.
So once again I wasted half of the daylight hours in bed. This is the reason that it is impossible to see Budapest in a day or two. I have been here for more than 7 days and still have only seen a tiny chunk of the city. After taking a 7 hour walk around the city, Margaret island and stopping at a small market and watching an awesome Blues duo today I made the decision not to leave Budapest just yet. The plan was to leave for Vienna tomorrow, but I really think I will regret leaving before I get to see and do a few more things here. Tomorrow I will be up at 8am, no excuses (no beer).
Not to toot my own horn but man I got took some amazing photos today, so todays photo was extremely difficult to select. I think I must take my best photos when I am hungover… This is The Hungarian Parliament Building and is the third largest parliament building in the world.
