Well today totally sucked. Unfortunately this will be my last photo. I have to end my 365 project on day 313, 52 days short of 365 days. For our last full day in Santiago. Chile, and South America I had my camera stolen 🙁
We visited a vineyard just outside the metro line in Santiago. If you know me well, you know I grew up on a vineyard but hate wine with a passion. At the vineyard we did a short tour and tasted several wines from the vineyard. The first tasting like stale apple juice, the second tasting like burnt wood and earwax and third tasting surprisingly similar to dust and licking a battery with a distinct battery acid aftertaste. Viv however thought they were all wonderful. The tour did have one redeeming aspect which was the “casillero del diablo” cellars, which was an underground cellar w
The main reason I agreed to do a wine tour was to finally get my hands on a replacement spanish drinking vessel known as a bota bag. My last quality bota bag was bought in Macedonia, but after leaving it on a bus in Ecuador I have been extremely disappointed in the lack of bota bags for sale in South America thus far. I thought surely a well known vineyard in Chile of all places would have a bota bag, but alas they sold tonnes of disgusting wines, useless trinkets and carry bags of all kinds, except the legendary bota bags. I was devastated.
Afterwards we went to my favourite staple chicken outlet, KFC. While the food was amazing, the patrons weren’t. While I was enjoying a twister combo some complete douche hole managed to sneak off with my bag and camera without me noticing. I am outraged that this could happen on such a beautiful day. An amazing warm sunny day, today of all days, the first of April, the day of fools I believe 😉
