Day-326

Habitat 67, Montreal. This crazy apartment complex was designed by Israeli–Canadian architect Moshe Safdie for the 1967 World Exposition. Today it stands as Montreal’s and one of the worlds most bizarre pieces of architecture. Habitat 67 is easily viewable from the Old Port of Montreal across the river, but I wanted to get a closer look. It isn’t really an accessible site and took several public transport swaps and almost 30 minuets walking to reach. Once I reached the bizarre structure however I was shadowed by an arsehole security guard the entire time, which meant I couldn’t get as close as I had anticipated. I tried having a chat to him and asking if he could show me the main foyer or let me take some photos from the car park, but there was no convincing him.

Somehow I once again ended up at at Brae’s local watering hole while wandering around the downtown area after checking out Habitat 67, so the remainder of the afternoon was pretty much lost to cheap beer.
