Well Day 80 might have been one of the most epic days of my trip so far, but Day 81 was definitely a stark contrast. As you may or may not know I quit my job to do this trip, but before I left I was offered the chance to do some freelance work here and there whenever the jobs started backing up. There is nothing better than being paid to travel so naturally I took up the offer. So today I sat down to do a solid 8+ hours of work behind my laptop for the first time in 80 days.
It was tough sitting in my hostel behind my laptop knowing that Barcelona was just waiting outside my window, but for every hour of work I do I can afford another day of Budget traveling which isn’t such a bad sacrifice. I also managed to do my washing and washed my hair while I was working, so I saved half a day there too.
I have now found another reason (excuse) to extend my stay in spain. Just by an extra day so I can do a trip tomorrow, but sans my Russian buddy this time unfortunately. I will be exploring solo for the first time in over a week actually!
To make up for the lost day I went out and re-captured a zoom burst shot I had been playing around with a few nights earlier at the Columbus Monument.
